FAQ + Ts & Cs

Although there are answers to all of these scattered throughout the website; instead of having you hunt them out or any disputes, we have put them all in one easy to find page.
And believe me, we have either been asked these a million times, had to argue them or put them in place due to others actions or behaviours.

What is the point in a membership?

A membership is a great way to access us whenever you wish, we have an entire library full of Burlesque routines which are taught in our face to face classes, so if you are one of our class students; you can use these to practice between weeks. If you are too far away from our classes or just prefer your own company, you can do these at home at entirely your own pace.

Our memberships also carry perks of discounts to our face to face and online workshops, Gravesend Goddesses and Sanguine Shadows face to face classes. You basically make back the money you spend on membership.

Can my membership give me discount on shows?

Unfortunately at this time no, due to production costs and everybody that needs to be paid involved in a showcase event; discounts would basically take money out of the pockets of everyone from venue to performers to other staff. If we eventually do huge shows that sell out within 2 seconds, then we can offer membership ticket discounts.

I don't want my membership anymore how do i get rid of it?

(yes this has been put to me, in this exact tone, people eh?) The memberships are on a rolling payment, much the same as a direct debit or standing order, and the payments will come out on the same day at regular increments depending on the membership length you chose. If you no longer wish to have a membership, please just email us at sizzleandsway@outlook.com to cancel ahead of the next payment taken.

Please do not be abusive or claim to not have knowledge of the rolling payments and attempt a chargeback, as this T&C is everywhere including a manual checkbox before you even open a membership.

There are human beings with families on the otherside of this screen and keyboard, we do not appreciate false accusations, defamation of character and abuse.

I cannot attend my class, workshop or show. can i get a refund?

Unfortunately the same situation as discounts on show tickets, refunds cannot be given for not being able to attend for whichever reason. Running costs need to be paid for website, venue, advertising and labour and it is not at the fault of the instructor or production team that you cannot attend. This does not affect your statutory rights, and again this T&C is everywhere on our individual pages.

However if you have booked onto a class, workshop or show and we need to cancel it on our end, you will be issued a refund or voucher of your choosing; as it is our decision for whichever reason.

I attend a class or workshop and want to film it to take home and use

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo, yeah that's a sorry you cannot do that. This company is trademark and copyright bound, and that lasts a very long time with a very high cost to protect our work. If you film within a class, you are taking business away from the instructor, you could potentially share it and run into copyright infringement, you could be putting another student in danger if they expressly wish to not be filmed.

The membership library is there for you to be able to practice without running into any of these issues, and instructors do film and specially edit with everyone's media consent forefront to then be able to use accordingly. Anybody found filming after being told no will face a permanent ban and asked to delete the footage.

I am from another school / company and wish to use the routine content for mine

Our routines and content is highly protected, and unfortunately we have now had to put extra security measures in place due to outside companies misusing our creations.

Each routine and concept must have express permission from Miss Crimson Delight owner of Sizzle & Sway Burlesque via sizzleandsway@outlook.com , a charge will be needed for use of the content and a contract drawn up for the intended use of said content. Any online posts with the involved content must also be tagged with the original choreographer and company. Some routines are choreographed and bought from friends of the company and mentors, so they will need to be included in the agreement also.

Any failure to do this will be in direct breach of contract, copyright infringement of original creation and therefore liable to be prosecuted in a court of law with fines involved.

Again we apologise for having to use extensive measures, but previous colleagues and supposed friends of the company have used our routines without permission, commission or even a mention and been praised by others for having passed our hard work off as their own.

We have seen your content online and would love to have you perform with us

Let's do it!!!!!! As much as it feels like we have had a little moan up above, it is only because we treasure our work like our own children, but we love collaboration!!!!!! So send us the deets, and we'll get something working. Looking forward to it.

I am a registered instructor and want to run my own workshop

By all means yes but please do not set it up in an area which is already covered by another instructor; this means you are pulling business away from them and therefore their income. The golden rule with us is to respect everybody's teaching areas and their own customer base. If you are using routines and content to promote or teach which is not your own creation, there will be a small extra charge for usage as you are profiting off of somebody else's work.

I am a registered instructor but now wish to go it alone

Then we wish you all the luck in the world, hopefully we can work together in the future and we're happy that you were a part of our team. Please note that after your membership ends, you will no longer be able to use our routines even in concept or tweaked.
